Knowledge of the relationship between content and the children - common conceptions, misconceptions, and difficulties.
Knowledge of the relationship between content and the curriculum - sequence and structure of content.
Knowledge of the relationship between content and teaching - strategies, pedagogical techniques, and ways of modelling/representing/explaining knowledge to address learning needs.
Helps understand key points that need to be questioned and strengthened without assuming student knowledge.
